A time for everything

Winter is upon us and  the garden, and whilst it is always lovely to see the fantastic produce, there is another side to our garden as well.
To quote
“There is a time for everything
And a season for every activity under heaven…….
A time to plant and a time to uproot”
Thus it is with our garden and the gardeners have definitely uprooted!
Today we have included photos of bare beds ( first photo) ; this was our original very successful pumpkin patch (and then we tried rockmelons - unsuccessfully). The bed has definitely been uprooted and is lying quietly idle and somewhat poorly whilst we restore the soil for more plants in a few months
Photo two is the fig tree that we have pruned right back and this looks spindly and very sad and sorry for itself, but our pruning will allow it to grow stronger and ( hopefully) more productive next spring / summer.
Amazing how all this works season after season with the right care and a little knowledge ( thank you Margaret and crew).
Now we are back watering again after months of non stop rain, and finally some successive days of sunshine - to every season- words of wisdom
Happy gardening

Mick
