Welcome to the Normanhurst Neighbourhood Garden

Just up the road from you

Pop in on a Saturday morning or
check out Mick’s Blog   Hi I'm Mick and I write the Blogs about our Garden

Galley of Images from the Garden ... coming soon.

Our Neighbourhood Garden was established early 2016.

Our aim is to provide a welcoming place for people of all ages and beliefs to have the opportunity to meet and share in the joy of easy gardening with a relaxed and non judgemental group of people.

We enjoy growing fruit and vegetables that are shared freely to all members at no cost to whoever is there. We have and hope to continue to fully fund the garden through recycling bottles and cans provided by church and community members.

Whilst we operate on Normanhurst Uniting Church property and are able to be insured through the Uniting Church as a recognised activity, we do not expect our members to be a part or become part of the church community.

The garden is for those who may not have a garden and also for anyone to come and spend a few hours of easy interaction whether that involves gardening or just chatting and solving the world’s issues at morning tea time over a cup of tea and piece of cake.  It has been suggested that our real name is The Morning Tea Group Who Like To Garden.

Age is not a barrier, nor gardening skill, just a friendly attitude and a few spare hours on any Saturday morning that can be spared.

When do we garden?

garden hoursOctober to March we meet at 8.30 am during daylight saving time, and usually have morning tea around 10.00 and the morning finishes usually between 11.00 - 11.30 am.

April to September we meet at 9.30 am, an hour later during non daylight saving time.

You are most welcome.
Pop in any Saturday morning and we can show you around.
Be surprised at what you can grow in Normanhurst.
