Gardeners keep on going

Our revered administrator deserted us again last Saturday but we are looking forward to his healthy return this week.

Even with staff away we plodded on and managed to get a lot of our garden beds ready for Spring plantings this week. Peas, spinach, lettuce, celery and bok Choi, were picked and shared and the excess spinach taken to church on Sunday where it disappeared quickly.

The flowering broad bean are finally producing so we can look forward to sharing these in the next couple of weeks and our berry crops are looking healthy with lots of flowers and this will mean some delicious berries for summer.

Compost and cow manure was distributed onto gardens waiting for seedlings so we will celebrate the long weekend with many plantings.

We have a couple of unwell gardeners at the moment, we wish them speedy recovery and look forward to them joining us again soon.

Best wishes
Margaret
