Saturday saw a slow start without our administrator around cracking the whip and taking photos but as the morning warmed up the enthusiasm grew and we all revelled in the empty bins that were quickly filled with the banana trees cut down the previous week.
A lot of petunia seedlings were planted at the front and some more peas oversewn where the last lot have not shown up. Watering has continued and we are slowly seeing the cabbages, broccoli, spinach and pumpkins getting ready for harvest. Out the back we took the net off the fig tree and gave the tree a cut back and tidy. The red cabbages are starting to look healthy and the peas are flowering well.
Morning tea was enjoyed in the sunshine, thanks Liz, and Shanta joined us for a cuppa and gave us another bag of oranges. I have just finished making a batch of orange marmalade with these.
Growth is slow in the garden at present for everything except the weeds, which keep us busy every week. With days about to lengthen and warm sunshine our crops should thrive so come along and enjoy a morning in the great outdoors.
