Mr Perpetual Motion

Mr Perpetual Motion and Little Pat Horner

What an unusual Saturday- sunny and quite warm, which meant work was completed on a number of areas.

Front beds were fed to return some of the many nutrients that have been diluted and washed away by the rain.

The rain has caused our spinach to be spotted and poor, so many leaves had to be removed and only a few remain to hopefully grow back stronger. Our lettuce, pak choi and cabbages are surviving and we picked another two pumpkins from the bumper crop.

But now a word regarding our two photos - before and after shots of the midgen berries that were severely cropped back practically single handedly by the young man holding the hedger and rake; Lawrie was like a blur, moving around the beds cutting, snipping and raking then doing it again all in what appeared one motion - Mr Perpetual Motion - definitely voted best on field for the day!
Out back a dozen oranges were picked, mandarins were renetted, the peas were again wound around and upwards on the magical trellis and our first flowers are already in sight.

Another photo will be sent separately but it reminded me of an old nursery rhyme
Little Pat Horner dug through the leaves in a corner

She pushed down her thumb and pulled out
          …… a huge sweet potato!

Well done Pat, this bed has continued to give us lovely produce.

See you all next Saturday

Happy gardening
